When owners (and full-time parents) David + Ginny came to us, they told us of a vision they had of a community-focused cafe where anyone can come to grab a drink, eat a treat, and build deeper relationships. Whether it's an informal get-together, a business meeting, a mom play date, a Bible study, or a book club, David + Ginny wanted their cafe be the gathering place
agora (n): a gathering place.
Defining The Brand
When creating the visual style for Agora, we focused on calm + inviting visuals, simple marks, and a light + fresh feeling.
The icon illustrates a minimal sheaf of wheat, delicately bound together and carefully curved to give the icon the right amount of movement.
Metaphorically, a sheaf of wheat illustrates abundance, fertility, and blessing. Since Agora will be a gathering place meant to increase connection, the wheat metaphor helps to further drive home the message of growth and nourishment.
Building Trust
Developing and delivering a logo is great. But what is a brand without consistent brand application? Maintaining a strong, consistent brand style is crucial to creating a trustworthy brand name.
When delivering the Agora brandbook, we included everything the owners would needs to succeed - brand values, brand personality, visual style, how to use the brandmark, and brand colors + fonts.
We didn’t stop there. We even included mockups for their web presence, packaging (stickers, cup sleeves, to-go bags, parchment paper, and pastry bags), and menus.
